You have probably received a short email this morning from the Sam Houston Trails Coalition (SHTC) asking for a volunteer to serve as the Cycling Director.
GHORBA has been in communication with the SHTC since May 2017 to assist in searching for, and encourage filling the cycling board member. This morning’s mail is the first positive feedback we have received on their position and we must note, the timing is a bit curious as to a sudden interest in filling a position they have chosen to keep open for 6 months.
No position - Hiking, Equestrian, Motorized, or Cycling - should ever be left open for such a long period, especially when the others are allowed to write and negotiate multiple contracts with the Forest Service and vendors, spend thousands of dollars, and generally plan for the future of the trails on behalf of a missing sport/board member.
Any and all cycling members of the SHTC are welcome to respond to this message and offer their service to the SHTC.
Please keep GHORBA posted if you have any questions or are willing to serve in this important position - post here, or drop a line to firstname.lastname@example.org / email@example.com.
Thank you for your time and we hope to see you all at Double Lake this weekend.
