Productive weekend with GHORBA’s vendor partner American YouthWorks - Texas Conservation Corps on the new Huntsville boardwalk and paver tie ends.

GHORBA is still investing more cash (about $700) in this project this month so thank you to those who have donated $$$ this year and for your annual memberships.

BIG hats off to project leader Jon Power and Trails Director CJ Bernard, and many other volunteers that made this weekend possible.

Next step is a follow-up report, boardwalk inspection(s), and an approved signage plan.

Stay tuned and Let’s Git It Done!

Returning for 2018 ... The GHORBA Big Ring Challenge. The GHORBA Big Ring Challenge is back in 2018. Following an opening in the TMBRA schedule, GHORBA asked to move the race to Feb 24-25 so as not to conflict with the MS150 and to give time for another event to hopefully be created for the xc series. The good news: it's looking like the best race ever; a beginner friendly course is near the start of the series for people getting their race feet wet; and funds from this race go back into Houston area trails, which are still recovering from Hurricane Harvey. We look forward to seeing you there. Registration will open when permits are finalized. Stay tuned! ... See MoreSee Less

Justin Brindley Trail in Sugar Land is OPEN. Back from Harvey thanks to a few trail gnomes. Greg A Gorsha is working his magic on the finer flow of the trail. New Entrance left of the old one. We lost a lot more trail but it’s fast and fun. Lots of roll to the new course. Great for new Mtn bikers who are new to the sports. Get outside! Great trail to introduce kids too. ... To the ladies of the group. I am hoping this year of riding more with ladies. I like to road bike but I prefer mountain biking. I have always ridden with my honey and the guys he rode with so I have never had a group of ladies to ride with. I'm not super fast but I'm not slow either. I am considering racing for the first time this year and I hope there are some ladies that can give me pointers as well. I appreciate any ladies that will let me ride with them. It's a new year and I hope to find some riding buddies. If you are willing to let me ride, please let me know how to find you. Thanks! ... See MoreSee Less
